Monastrell

Monastrell, also known as Mourvèdre in France, is a dark-skinned grape variety that thrives in warm climates. It is predominantly grown in Spain, particularly in the Jumilla and Yecla regions, where it produces robust, full-bodied red wines. Monastrell is known for its thick skin, which contributes to the deep color and strong tannic structure of the wine. This variety is drought-resistant, making it ideal for the Mediterranean climate of southeastern Spain.
