Ingredients:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
- ½ cup frozen peas
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Recipe:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir continuously for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Stir in the drained tuna and frozen peas. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the top of the macaroni mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
