Maskne is acne caused by external mechanical damage, inflammation of the skin due to the constant wearing of medical masks. The friction of the material against the skin during the day, the damp fumes from breathing, the dust accumulating on the mask — all this destroys the top protective layer of the skin, usually in the area of ​​the bridge of the nose and under the eyes. If the mask has to be worn every day, then the skin does not have time to recover from damage, and the irritation progresses, occupying an increasing surface and causing discomfort.
