Capsule Collection

A separate collection within the brand, most often created by the specially invited designer or a celebrity. Generally, this is a limited edition collection, in which all the pieces of clothes are combined by the general idea. Capsule collections are characterized by limited edition, limited sale time and a limited number of stores that sell these clothes. The attraction of such collections to the consumer is an opportunity to buy clothes from the favorite designers at affordable price. The designers’ benefit is in increase of the popularity of their brand as well as sales increase. The first capsule collection was developed in 1969 by the designer Emmanuel Kahn for the catalog La Redoute.
