Mint Julep
Mint Julep is a classic American cocktail that dates back to the 18th century. Its origins are believed to be in the southern United States, where it was initially enjoyed as a medicinal drink made with bourbon, sugar, water, and fresh mint. The cocktail gained widespread popularity in the 19th century, particularly in Kentucky, where it became synonymous with the Kentucky Derby. Traditionally served in a silver or pewter cup, the Mint Julep is now an iconic symbol of Southern hospitality and the official drink of the Kentucky Derby.
Flavor:
Mint Julep offers a refreshing, invigorating flavor with the crisp coolness of fresh mint balanced by the rich warmth of bourbon. The sweetness of sugar adds a smooth, mellow undertone, making it a perfect drink for hot summer days.
