Halter Dresses and Blouses
Another trend is becoming relevant this summer — halter dresses and blouses that beautifully emphasize the shoulder line. A striking example of this is in the colorful knitted tops that we have seen at Prada spring-summer 2020 show. A similar technique applied to the lace dresses and cotton tops has been also observed in Loewe collection. Dion Lee embodied the same idea but in the form of a bright dress sewn from bandana-like elements of fabrics.
We owe the invention of halter dresses to the French fashion designer Madeleine Vionnet who created the models with this clothes cut yet in the distant 1920s. In the 1930s and 1940s, such cuts also began to be used in sewing swimwear. Beautifully open shoulders were adored by the girls of the 1950s, 1970s and 1990s. Halter dresses and blouses repeatedly find their admirers in every decade. So, The Fashiongton Post recommends to take a closer look and add this garment to your fashionable wardrobe too.
