- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 tbsp milk, as needed
Recipe:
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the granulated sugar, softened butter, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until combined. Gradually add the remaining flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a 16×21-inch rectangle.
- Spread the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long edge, and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting: beat the cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls. Serve and enjoy!
