Frogging is an ornamental braid or cording used as a garment closure or for decorative purpose. Originally was noticed on traditional Chinese clothing yet in 960–1279 AD. Later, after observing the use of frogging in the East, it was adopted by the French Military, becoming an important decorative feature on military uniforms of cavalry or hussars in the 17th–19th centuries. In modern times, due to its close association mostly with military uniforms, frogging can be seen on many ceremonial garments.
