Pitti Uomo 2018
This is an exhibition in Florence (Italy), which is as much important as men’s fashion weeks in Milan, and the only difference is that it does not show men walking along the catwalks… they walk leisurely, communicate to each others, take pictures, and all the trends from Pitti Uomo then show up on the shelves and store hangers of various men’s fashion designers.
Pitti Uomo is the largest trade show in Europe and is a professional event where Italian brands meet with reporters and showroom owners to discuss new trends in the design of men’s clothing.
What made this exhibition so famous is that it was as if the visitors were picked up specially, and “dressed up”, but they all wear their suits with such an elegant negligence that it becomes clear – they always look like that.
The Pitti Uomo exhibition started back in the 1950s with just several Italian brands, mostly for buyers and press (and in the role of a trade show with its current name first appeared in 1972), and now Pitti Uomo has turned into the most important event in men’s streetstyle: 1000 men’s brands, more than 30,000 visitors.
And now you may have a look at some previous Pitti Uomo events shot by Eleonora Sebastiani, specially for our magazine:
