Stovepipe

Stovepipe hat (also known as “top hat” or “topper”) is a tall, cylindrical hat with a flat top and broad brim, typically made from silk or felt. It became popular in the early 19th century, particularly among the upper classes in Europe and America. The hat evolved from earlier hat styles worn by aristocrats. Abraham Lincoln famously wore a stovepipe hat, which helped solidify its iconic status in American history. The hat symbolized sophistication and authority but fell out of everyday fashion by the mid-20th century.
