Tea Dress — is a loose-fitting dress, usually made of lightweight fabrics. It first appeared in England in the 1870s. The cut of the tea dress originated from the traditional Japanese kimono reinterpreted by Europeans. Women wore a tea dress only at home, it was not suitable for wearing in public since it was considered indecent at those times. Nowadays, designers call all light summer loose-fitting dresses as tea dresses. Modern street style allows you to mix a light tea dress with a voluminous bomber jacket and sports sneakers during the daytime, and in a combination with sandals and a coat in the evening.
