Gingham

December 30, 2018

Gingham is a print on cotton fabric with small cells on a white background where the stripes of the muted tone form a dark square at the cells’ intersections.

The name itself originated from Malay “genggang”, meaning “separate” or “striped”. Real gingham is distinguished by the way it’s being made — the yarn is always dyed before it is woven.
