Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt, plus extra for sprinkling
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Recipe:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and chopped semisweet chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually stir the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt.
- Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie dough ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
