Tricorne is a three-cornered hat with a standing brim, popular in 18th century. Tricorne could vary in size and style, and being worn not only by the aristocracy but also military and naval officers, as well as sometimes by regular people.

Until the mid-19th century, the hat was not called a “tricorne” but was referred to as a” cocked hat”. Used to be made from animal fiber, beaver-hair felt and the less expensive of those were simply produced of wool felt.
