Blucher shoes are often confused with Derby shoes and are considered synonymous due to the same open lacing system, however, there is a difference between Derby and Blucher shoes, which lies in the design features of these types of men’s shoes: the heel in a derby goes seamlessly into the quarters, with a tongue from vamps in between. In turn, the quarters of blucher shoes are sewn on top of the vamp and back.
