Summer Detox for Flat Belly
After a long quarantine and all those sweets that you ate during the months of self-isolation, it is quite difficult to recover. To get back in shape, start your day with a detox drink, and the cucumber water will undoubtedly be the leader among those.
Drinking water and eating foods containing water, such as cucumbers and other vegetables and fruits, provide tremendous health benefits, including protection from fatigue and the elimination of waste products and toxins from the body. But the most important benefit is that drinking water helps maintain the correct fluid balance in the body.
Cucumber water is also known as ‘sassy water’ — named after its creator, Cynthia Sass, who used to be a director of preventive nutrition. This drink is much healthier for detoxification than regular water. Cucumber allows you to remove toxins from the body, ginger speeds up metabolism, removes toxins and soothes the gastrointestinal tract, lemon contains a shock dose of vitamin C, which acts as a detox agent and enhances immunity. So, sassy water is useful not only for the flat belly! To make sassy water, squeeze half a lemon into a glass of warm water, then add chopped ginger and a few slices of cucumber. The prepared drink should be stirred and drunk on an empty stomach in the morning, in small sips, preferably 30 minutes before meals and 1 hour after.
