Vampiro

History:
One of the Mexican national drinks, where it is sometimes made with pomegranate juice instead of tomato juice and without the grenadine. It was allegedly originally created by Oscar Hernandez, a fruit stand vendor from San Luis Soyatlán, Mexico.
Flavor:
A supercharged version of Bloody Mary with a hint of sweet grenadine.
IBA Category:
Was formerly present among IBA official cocktails but has since fallen off the list.
Ingredients:
- Tequila (2 fl oz.)
- Tomato juice (1 fl oz.)
- Orange juice, freshly squeezed (1 fl oz.)
- Lime juice, freshly squeezed (0.5 fl oz.)
- Grenadine syrup (0.5 fl oz.)
- Red hot pepper sauce (7 drops)
- Salt (1 pinch)
- Black pepper (1 grind)
Recipe:
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.
